The Discipleship Pathway
Here at Living Water, our mission is simple: We exist to “Love God, Love People, and make disciples who make disciples.”
You may wonder what that looks like for you in a practical sense, so we put our mission into action in what we call “The Discipleship Pathway.”
As a partner of Living Water, we want you to be involved in 4 specific areas of our church:
We want you to come to know God more in a weekly worship service as Pastor Jake teaches the Bible.
We want you to find community in a weekly Life Group as you navigate life with others, guided by God’s Word.
We want God’s Word to take root in you and spread to others as you make disciples in a yearly D-Group of 3-5 men or women.
We want you to join God’s work to change the world through missions, evangelism, and volunteering.
Where are you on The Discipleship Pathway? It’s time to take your next step!
KNOW GOD
Through weekly worship and teaching
At Living Water we recognize that worship is a daily lifestyle. Everything about our lives should worship and bring attention to Jesus. Weekly, at 10:00 a.m., we worship together as a church and this would be a great way to check out our church for the first time. Worship is the first step on our Discipleship Pathway of getting to know God. Here’s what you can expect: relevant and practical messages based on the Bible, music that engages us in authentic praise, and fun teaching for your kids.
FIND COMMUNITY
in Weekly life Groups
A life group is an environment of biblical community where people can feel welcomed and accepted and encounter Christ. They consist of 10-20 people meeting at various locations and provide an ideal setting for building relationships, doing life together, and having fun while living out the mission of Living Water. We’re better together. We believe groups are the place for significant life change.
MAKE DISCIPLES
in yearly D-groups of 3-5 men or women
Discipleship is important at Living Water Church; it’s an important process for every believer that provides intimate friendships, an environment of accountability, and most importantly it cultivates a life rooted deeply in God’s word.
D-Groups consist of 3-5 people of the same gender that commit to meeting outside of the Life Group meeting time. They provide for deep friendships, and environment of accountability, and most importantly, it cultivates a life rooted in God’s Word. They provide the means for multiplication of disciple-making.
CHANGE THE WORLD
through missions, evangelism and volunteering
While we love to worship together at the Barn, our life purpose and impact happens outside the walls of the church. The best way to impact others is to show them the love and message of Jesus Chris. While we may not be able to change ‘the world,’ we can change ‘somebody’s world.'
Life groups, students and individuals serve locally in schools, nursing homes, homeless ministry and various ways in the community and we have traveled throughout the Southeast to share the love of Christ through acts of service to those whom society has forgotten. We also partner with Living Water Missions International and One Vision International to show the love of Jesus in the Dominican Republic.
